   I agree wholeheartedly that any relationship can be saved with commitment. And I was willing to put everything I had or could. But it was never enough. The pain from the past seemed to have blocked all her desire to commit to the betterment of the relationship. She lost faith in me and us. She never believed we could be better or get better. She always felt like it was a temporary solution to a permanent problem. Thus, she built up her walls and pretended things weren't what they were. Strangely, she never did leave. Even though I could tell for some time that she wasn't the same and wasn't in love with me anymore. Cynically, I believe that she was just buying time to lose weight and feel comfortable enough to find another man.
