This happen to me in my relationship. My libido dropped out after being rejected so many times. The same way a LL needs to feel safe to want a sexual relationship a HL also needs that. And in my case being rejected 90+ percent of the time removed that sense of safety. He needs to work on his own feels of resentment and you need to help him with that, or it wont work at all.
